THE ROLE

 

The Project Management and Business Development Intern will collaborate with the Founder and team to optimize business operations, utilizing the company’s project tracking system and meeting strict deadlines. This individual will also collaborate with the Finance team to manage business expansion, including sourcing, building, and maintaining strong relationships with investors, Universities, Business Incubators, and employers.

  • Start date: January, February 2024

  • Job Type: Internship (Unpaid) – *College credit required*

  • Duration: Minimum 18 hours per week for 5 months.

  • Location: Remote (Zoom), based in New York, NY - Hybrid optional

  • Communication: Bi-weekly virtual team meetings and daily breakout rooms.

  • Working Hours: Self-schedule 9 AM - 9 PM EST Monday through Friday, Saturday-Sunday 10 AM - 5 PM.

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Cross-collaborate with teams to analyze business operations, identify revenue-generating initiatives, and execute plans to maximize profits. Pinpoint areas that are not meeting standards and optimize accordingly.

  • Collaborate with the Founder and team to maintain current relationships, as well as source and execute new partnerships, especially with universities, investors, and business incubators, to scale the corporation and brand, as well as support career development initiatives, such as the JBIER Fashion Internship Program, Career Acceleration Program (CAP) Workshops, webinars, and events.

  • Aid in the promotion and execution of JBIER Inc.’s fundraising initiatives, including optimizing the strategy of targeting, approaching, and positioning the company’s offerings.

  • Assist with execution and follow through of JBIER Inc.’s “Five Point Structure for Partnerships” initiative, business model, and overall business plan, defining the value of education and mission of increasing student job placement rate post-graduation.

  • Source and apply for grants that align with organizational values, brand identity, and mission, including topics such as small business owners, female founders, entrepreneurship, e-commerce, education, sustainability, career development, and the like.

  • Partner with the Founder, Team Leads, Human Resources, and Project Management teams to oversee business operations, including tracking and monitoring the performance of priority projects and ensuring team members are meeting company expectations.

  • Partner with the Human Resources team to review performance, identify areas of concern, and devise a plan outlining opportunities for advancement. Create reports with calls to action that details strategies to optimize team management and overall business operations.

  • Partner with the Human Resources Team to manage team calendar by collecting all schedules and priorities from team leads and Founder and assign tasks based on the team’s schedule and urgency, holding team members accountable.

  • Work with the Founder and Human Resources team to onboard new team members.

  • Assist with creating meeting agendas, taking notes during meetings, writing recaps, and communicating priorities with the team.

  • Manage and respond to business emails, bringing all priority material to attention.

  • Assist with data asset management by organizing and maintaining content on compay’s main communication platforms.

  • Assist with optimizing language on all communication documents, including drafting and sending high-level proposals to key partners.

  • Conduct competitive research, create detailed reports, and partner with the Social Media Marketing team to design an effective CAC and GTM strategy. Present findings to leadership team and implement successful campaigns to enhance brand visibility, drive sales, increase exposure, and maximize revenue.

  • Partner with the Photography and Videography team to bring JBIER Alumni success stories to life through promoting on social and e-commerce platforms.

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Project management, business development, finance, administration, and analytics experience are highly preferred.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft and Google Suite platforms, especially Excel and Sheets.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with a strong sense of accountability.

  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a remote, entrepreneurial environment.

  • Eagerness to lead projects and manage multiple tasks under strict deadlines.

  • Clear and demonstrative understanding of how to manage competing priorities within a business setting.
