By the end of my internship, we had built a fully operational online store, and learning how to develop the e-commerce business was the best hands-on experience I could have asked for. From helping to create a schedule/structure for my weekdays, to assisting me with cultivating new work relationships in the industry, JBIER's Fashion Merchandising Internship has truly helped me gain great experience in regard to both fashion and retail, through learning the ins and outs of an e-commerce business. Some important skills that I've built upon, from this internship, include learning how to professionally work in a remote setting, lead and communicate with a team of interns, exercising retail math through advanced excel formulas, and improving my customer relations skills through problem solving and direct communication. "Two rewarding accomplishments come to mind since being appointed team lead for JBIER’s fashion merchandising and product management department. The first being the strides my team and I have made regarding our following on Poshmark. Since taking on this role beginning in mid-May, the merchandising team and I have worked hard to gain over 6,000 followers on Poshmark. Since implementing a stringent accountability document regarding Poshmark engagement, I have seen our purchases, follower count, and likes sky-rocket. Additionally, gaining an in-depth working knowledge of fashion merchandising through platforms such as Wix and Facebook Commerce Manager, then helping teach my team members these skills has been truly rewarding. The instances where I see my strategies and mentorship yield results for Jbier is the ultimate reward."
