OUR STORY

Founded by Jessica Bierman in May 2020, JBIER Inc., parent of JBIER Boutique and the JBIER Fashion Internship Program, is a rapidly expanding start-up based in New York. JBIER Inc.’s slogan, “We Are All Angels,” is the foundation of the company's mission to provide an inclusive platform to express diversity and equality through fashion. JBIER Inc. seeks to empower individuals around the world while bringing disruptive change to the fashion industry. In March 2015, Bierman’s passion and appreciation for e-commerce, resale, and sustainability, inspired her to begin her journey as a small business owner of JBIER on Poshmark, a leading e-commerce marketplace for new and secondhand merchandise with over 80 million buyers and sellers nationwide. Following the significant shift in shopping behavior due to COVID-19, she saw this as the perfect opportunity to take her online business to the next level. That said, Bierman founded her fashion, beauty, and lifestyle startup, JBIER, in May 2020, officially launched the e-commerce platform jbierboutique.com, in January 2021, and incorporated the business, JBIER Inc., in April 2021. Through brand partnerships, strategic sourcing, and original creative illustrations, JBIER Boutique contains an assortment of women's and men's fashion, in-house designed merchandise, and unique resale finds across five e-commerce platforms. To meet the unique styles of JBIER Boutique’s customers, the website houses 26 carefully curated collections, with eight digital lookbooks, style guides, holiday gift guides, and over 50 blogs. Similar to the immersive shopping experience of an in-person JBIER Boutique pop-up shop, in May 2023, JBIER received an irresistible opportunity to host live shows on Poshmark. Being one of the first sellers chosen for the new beta testing feature on the platform, we can now engage directly with our community, in real-time, allowing buyers to bid on 50 featured items. That being said, as a Poshmark Ambassador, posh show host, and 4.9-star top seller with 350+ customer reviews, JBIER celebrates the successful approach of reaching 100K community members on Poshmark. We are thrilled to share that our journey continues with great momentum and an incredible surge and demand for our products.

We engage our audience with compelling stories and trending content, keeping them informed and involved. Our website serves as a central hub for promotions and email marketing initiatives, offering exclusive incentives to subscribers. We also host live Posh Shows on Posh Live. With shops across jbierboutique.com, Poshark @jbier, and social media handles including Instagram @jbierboutique @jbieresale, TikTok @jbierboutique, and Facebook @jbierboutique, JBIER Boutique offers a diverse range of fashion, beauty, home, and lifestyle products directly to consumers nationwide. Through strategic partnerships and creative sourcing, we provide a unique assortment of merchandise, including beauty, fashion, and resale finds. We continually enhance our website, jbierboutique.com, as the primary e-commerce platform, showcasing carefully curated collections, digital lookbooks, style guides, holiday gift guides, and blogs tailored to our customers’ preferences. We also leverage Poshmark for sales and engagement, utilizing features like Promoted Closet and virtual Posh Shows to actively engage our audience on various social media platforms to drive traffic to our sites.

Education & Internship Program

JBIER is more than just an online sales platform; it's a movement. Igniting my ambition to fuse fashion, beauty, e-commerce, and education in a sustainable, purpose-driven way, the growth and development of JBIER led to the establishment of our momentus internship program. The JBIER Internship Program is an immersive learning experience created to support the personal, professional, and educational growth of college students within a remote startup setting. The mission and vision of the program is to provide college students with accelerated experience and resources necessary to kickstart their careers by applying classroom learning to a real-world environment. With 65+ university partnerships globally and 20-30 interns per semester, JBIER Inc. is committed to nurturing a generation of professionals who can confidently contribute to their industries and thrive in the ever-evolving landscape of the modern workforce. Through the JBIER Internship Program, our team is provided with key resources and empowered to contribute to the company’s initiatives, allowing them to develop their skills and creativity while being an integral part of our brand's growth. Our interns are more than just participants – they're important contributors who influence our brand's direction. It brings me great pride to highlight that 90% of JBIER program alumni have effectively landed positions with prestigious organizations, including Conde Nast, Disney, Saks Fifth Avenue, and TJX Companies, after completing the program. - Nurture talent through the JBIER Internship Program, offering college students an immersive learning experience within our startup environment. - Encourage interns to contribute to various aspects of the business, fostering creativity, entrepreneurship, and a sense of belonging. - Partner with the team to translate findings into powerful, relevant strategies to drive engagement, loyalty, and growth.

To achieve this, we employ a multifaceted approach Targeted Advertising: We run strategic ads on popular social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and Google ADS. By targeting specific and diverse demographics, we ensure our message reaches the right audience Continuous Optimization: We constantly analyze performance data and ROI to fine-tune our ad campaigns. This ensures we are maximizing our resources and reaching our goals effectively. Ecommerce and Email Marketing: our website, jbierboutique.com, serves as the cornerstone of our marketing efforts. We utilize it to deploy engaging email campaigns, announcing sales, new collections, and exclusive discounts to our subscribers. Angel Boxes

Our Angel Box Program not only involves our team to showcase their unique qualities but also serves as an excellent opportunity for customers to visualize our products. By curating personalized assortments of JBIER Boutique resale merchandise, tailored to individual styles, sizes, and current trends, and distributing them to interns across the nation, we empower our team to creatively produce content like unboxing videos and "Get Ready With Me" tutorials. Sharing this content on JBIER Boutique's platforms allows our team to become more closely connected with the products, provides our audience with a glimpse of the team, and offers customers a tangible representation of our items. Additionally, Angel Boxes can be exchanged among team members, enabling more interns to participate and customers to see how products fit on various body types. Through our Angel Box initiative, our interns can replicate the personalized in-store experience, with lifestyle photographs playing a crucial role in conveying the product's essence, bridging the gap between the online and in-person shopping experience.

In-Person and Virtual Shopping Experiences

Experience the best of both worlds with JBIER Boutique’s unique shopping experiences, whether you are in person or online. Pop-up shops are designed to create a sense of importance and exhilaration, attracting customers with the idea of the shop in a limited time period. Furthermore, this immersive, hands-on, shopping experience that takes place in a temporary retail space, offers customers the unique opportunity to connect face-to-face with our Founder and wonderful team! Hosting pop-up shop events provides our team with the opportunity to execute a project they truly believe in and love! For example, our Social Media Marketing interns play a pivotal role by creating unique graphics to promote across JBIER Boutique’s e-commerce and social media platforms, as well as kickstart a dynamic campaign to drive customer anticipation and attendance. Our Fashion Merchandising and Product Management interns will assist with curating the product assortment and pricing for the event. Another essential marketing and selling channel is Poshmark Live. As a Poshmark Ambassador, posh show host, and 4.9-star top seller with 350+ customer reviews and a 98K following, JBIER was invited to host live shows on our Poshmark e-commerce platform, reaching 80 million buyers and sellers nationwide. Poshmark granted us the honor of being one of the first sellers to test this new feature given our strong follower base. This exciting endeavor allows us to engage directly with our community, showcasing our products in real-time and providing an immersive shopping experience. Poshmark Live shows allow us to further engage with our audience through live shows to showcase our latest offerings and connect with our customers on a personal level. Similar to the immersive shopping experience of an in-person JBIER Boutique pop-up shop, in May 2023, JBIER received an irresistible opportunity to host live shows on Poshmark. Being one of the first sellers chosen for the new beta testing feature on the platform, we can now engage directly with our community, in real-time. Most recently Poshmark has launched a “Sell Together” feature allowing hosts to collaborate with other Poshmark sellers. Backed by popular demand from the JBIER team, one of our goals is to invite interns nationwide to co-host sell-together live shows with JBIER, providing them with valuable hands-on experience, as well as the opportunity to enhance team-customer relationships. We aim to include this new feature as a part of our project trajectory by hosting posh shows with our team members and posh members nationwide. At JBIER Boutique we continue engaging with customers virtually through live Posh Shows, providing real-time interaction and feedback.

 Collaborations and Partnerships

Building on the success of the Angel Box Program and the Angel Collection, JBIER Boutique aspires to take it a step further by collaborating with influencers, beauty bloggers, and celebrities to increase brand exposure and engagement amongst a community who aligns with our brand vision and shares the same values. By leveraging our Angel Box initiative with influencer marketing, we intend to build low-cost, effective, and viral marketing campaigns with limited marketing spend, while leveraging sustainable beauty and fashion resale inventory to gain value. This includes diligent vetting and outreach to key personnel and leveraging existing resale merchandise to curate and ship a personalized Angel Box consisting of two or more products directly to that individual to create content and post on social media. Beyond driving viewers and revenue, this strategy is an incredibly unique training opportunity for the team to learn about building a social media inventory marketing campaign, while simultaneously gaining a stronger business skill set on cold emailing and critical thinking. By taking these steps to collaborate with influencers and industry experts, JBIER Boutique is able to efficiently increase brand exposure and engagement. At JBIER Inc. we are excited to explore the partnerships with organizations like Maesa to empower and educate young entrepreneurs while expanding our sustainable product assortment.

Branded Merchandise

At JBIER Boutique, we continuously expand our branded merchandise offerings to connect with our audience on a deeper level. Our team collaborates with influencers, beauty bloggers, celebrities, and entrepreneurs to create unique collections that reflect their style and personality. To meet this goal our company uses design platforms like Canva and Adobe Suite, we craft eye-catching graphics and illustrations for products ranging from sweatshirts, tote bags, notebooks, and pillows. For example, JBIER Boutique launched a “Back To School Collection'' as an extension of the “Angel Collection,” featuring products uniquely designed by some of our interns on the Social Media Marketing team, including the “Zoe Notebook”/ Zoe Zeff’s notable “Zoe Notebook.” Collaborators receive a dedicated coupon code for their followers and earn commissions based on sales performance. That said, there are a substantial amount of behind-the-scenes costs that go into the production and execution of pop-up shops. With the help of donors, we will gain the support needed to continue to grow our eco-friendly, sustainable small businesses.

 

Since the launch of JBIER in May 2020, the JBIER following on Poshmark saw a 129% increase from 41K to 94K community members with 350+ five-star reviews. Based on analytics, JBIER is slated to reach 100K followers by EOY 2023. We cordially invite you to join us in our endeavor to “pop- up” and make a lasting impact.

With being granted the opportunity to host posh shows, our profits have accelerated! However, we don't get to interact face to face with customers in the way we do for our in person events. Having these interactions promotes not only the business, but networking opportunities for interns!

 

The growth of our internship program goes hand in hand with the growth of our brand, JBIER Boutique.  JBIER interns have the opportunity to apply what they're learning in a classroom setting to an e-commerce fashion environment. Interns are provided with the resources necessary to kickstart their careers, in fashion, beauty, retail, etc. With proper funding, our team is able to leverage the resources and knowledge gained through working for JBIER Boutique and can significantly benefit from receiving funds to execute the project.

 

In our internship program there are various tracks. For example, one of our eight tracks is Social Media Marketing.  Social media marketing intern would do this. They gain essential knowledge to grow their skill set in that area of us/in that field. For example, in our internship program, our social media. marketing team.

 

Being a start up, our collaborative efforts focus on ensuring sustainability to foster the growth of the boutique, all while skillfully utilizing limited resources. With the necessary support and resources in place, our team effectively tackles analytics expertise and insights from our target demographic, enabling us to strategically allocate funds for advertising objectives and drive the boutique’s success forward.

Bierman established the JBIER Fashion Internship Program as an immersive learning experience to support the personal, professional, and educational growth of college students in a virtual setting. Through the continued success of the program over the past three years, 90% of graduates secured full-time positions with renowned companies, such as Saks Fifth Avenue, Sephora, LoveShackFancy, and the TJX Companies Inc. Merchandising Program. 

 

Alongside her e-commerce business ownership, Bierman serves as a Career Management Advisor, specializing in resume building, interviewing, self-branding, LinkedIn optimization, and networking for business. Expanding her offerings, Bierman is now introducing Career Acceleration Program (CAP) Workshops, beginning with our flagship Interview 101 module, offering mock interviews with tailored coaching sessions focused on professional presentation and etiquette, role-specific questions, as well as interview do's and don'ts. 

 

As the company, boutique, and program continue to rapidly grow with exciting new ventures, Bierman and the JBIER team are excited to see what the future holds!
