THE ROLE

 

We are looking for a Human Resources and Talent Acquisition Intern to join our rapidly-growing team. In this role, you will work closely with the Founder, Project Management, Administrative, and Recruitment team to manage the recruitment process, onboarding, and overall communication with the team. This intern will also assist in interviewing applicants for the JBIER Fashion Internship Program and onboarding and integrating new team members into their new positions.  Please note, this role is an unpaid, remote internship.

Start date: November, December 2023

Duration: Minimum 18 hours per week for 5 months 

Location: Remote (Zoom), based in New York, NY - Hybrid optional

Communication: Bi-weekly virtual team meetings and daily breakout rooms are held via Zoom

Working Hours: Self-schedule 9 AM - 9 PM EST Monday through Friday, Saturday-Sunday 10 AM - 5 PM

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Host quarterly one-on-ones with team members to review current performance, identify areas of concern and opportunities to advance, and promote open communication between all team members and the founder. Create reports detailing unique strategies to optimize team management and overall business operations.

  • Work with Administrative Operations and Talent Acquisition teams to draft brand books, contracts, and other necessary documents and schedule onboarding for new team members. 

  • Work with the Founder and Team Leads to onboard new members onto the team for each position, introducing Google drive and company platforms, reviewing integration documents, introducing company recordings, integrating into team meeting notes, and communicating all other training necessary for the onboarding process. 

  • Download and organize resumes for each job opening into Google Drive and organize the applicant tracker. Ensure the applicant tracker is up to date by ensuring applicant resumes, interviews, and acceptances/rejections are sent out daily. 

  • Manage the JBIER recruitment email account, including sending candidates/applicants first-round interview request emails, team members’ calendly links, and follow-up interview requests for final rounds with the Founder. 

  • Communicate with the team and hold weekly office hours to discuss progress with weekly priorities and arrange team meetings. 

  • Manage monthly team calendars by updating team members' internships' start and end dates. 

  • Work with the Legal team to draft internal team contracts to ensure a complete understanding of JBIER expectations. 

  • Partner with the Founder to review resumes on Handshake, LinkedIn, and the JBIER website, as well as University job boards to  identify the best candidates for the role. 

  • Interview potential candidates for their desired position. Know the job description and role before interviewing. Update the applicant tracker to provide feedback on each applicant for secondary interviews.

  • Download and organize resumes for each job opening into Google Drive and organize them on the applicant tracker. Ensure the applicant tracker is up to date by ensuring applicant resumes, interviews, and acceptances/rejections are sent out. 

  • Work with Founder, Project Management and Assistant to the Founder, and Recruitment team to manage and update Calendly links and schedules on a weekly basis. Ensure all follow-up interview request emails for the final round of interviews with the Founder. 

  • Send interview request emails, including Calendly links, iCal invites, as well as Zoom links to properly and promptly schedule first and final round interviews.

  • Create new and manage current job listings on LinkedIn, Handshake, and the company website as well as Univeristy Job boards.

  • Collaborate with the Founder and Website Design team to execute all aspects of the JBIER career service, including high-level resume review and content creation for webinars, events, workshops, and the career service website page. Compile documents about the Founder and create an executive summary to establish credentials as a career specialist and advisor.


 

REQUIREMENTS

 

  • All majors will be considered for this opportunity.

  • Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, Operations Management, Administrative, Project Management, and Legal experience are highly preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft and Google Suite platforms, especially Excel and Sheets.

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with a strong sense of accountability.

  • Attend bi-weekly team meetings to discuss overall business operations, as well as progress and performance of projects. Ensure benchmarks are in place and goals are met according to timelines.
