THE ROLE

 

We are looking for a Human Resources and Talent Acquisition Intern to join our rapidly-growing team. In this role, you will work closely with the Founder, Project Management, Administrative, and Recruitment team to manage the recruitment process, onboarding, and overall communication with the team. This intern will also assist in interviewing applicants for the JBIER Fashion Internship Program and onboarding and integrating new team members into their new positions.  Please note, this role is an unpaid, remote internship.

  • Job Type: Internship (Unpaid) – *College credit required*

  • Standard Internship Duration: Minimum 18 hours per week for 5 months

  • Accepting Standard Internship Applications for: March 2025 - August 2025, April 2025 - September 2025, May 2025- October 2025

  • Co-op Duration: 32-40 hours per week for 6 months

  • Accepting Co-op Applications for: Summer 2025 and Fall 2025 

  • Location: Remote (Zoom), based in New York, NY - Hybrid optional

  • Communication: Bi-weekly virtual team meetings and daily breakout rooms are held via Zoom

  • Working Hours: Self-schedule 9 AM - 9 PM EST Monday through Friday, Saturday-Sunday 10 AM - 5 PM.

  • **PLEASE NOTE: all Northeastern Co-op roles will be 32 - 40 hours/week with a duration of 6 months (April 2025 - September 2025, July 2025- December 2025)**

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Host quarterly one-on-ones with team members to review performance, identify areas of concern, and opportunities to advance. Promote open communication and create reports detailing unique strategies to optimize team management, as well as overall business operations.

  • Assist with onboarding new team members by drafting key documents and holding onboarding meetings to communicate tasks, expectations, and company policies.

  • Manage all phases of the company’s recruiting process from receiving applications and reviewing resumes to interviewing, hiring, and onboarding, as well as updating the applicant tracker daily.

  • Partner with the Founder to review resumes to identify the best candidates for the role. 

  • Actively communicate with applicants through the JBIER recruitment email account, including sending interview invitations, company-related emails, and follow-up interview requests. Ensure timely dispatch.

  • Communicate closely with the team, hold office hours, and coordinate team meetings to discuss progress of weekly priorities, as well as any other matters that may arise.

  • Create new and manage existing career opportunities across job boards, such as LinkedIn, Handshake, the company website, and University job boards.

  • Work closely with the Founder and Web Design team to successfully execute career development initiatives, encompassing workshops, networking events, educational learnings, and webinars.

  • Assist with creating, coordinating, planning, and executing in-person and virtual events, such as fundraisers, fashion shows, photoshoots, pop-up shops, and workshops. This includes  conducting research, creating event visions, ensuring content readiness, and assisting in the overall success of JBIER events.


 

REQUIREMENTS

 

  • All majors will be considered for this opportunity.

  • Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, Operations Management, Administrative, Project Management, and Legal experience are highly preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft and Google Suite platforms, especially Excel and Sheets.

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with a strong sense of accountability.

  • Attend bi-weekly team meetings to discuss overall business operations, as well as progress and performance of projects. Ensure benchmarks are in place and goals are met according to timelines.
