THE ROLE

 

The Web Design, Photography, and Videography Intern will play an integral role in managing and expanding our web presence, while continually striving to evolve design choices to achieve both efficiency and aesthetics. This individual will also edit photographs to ensure the merchandise and company is accurately represented across JBIER Boutique’s e-commerce and social media platforms, as well as create video content to showcase products, collections, blogs, email marketing newsletters, and other website pages.

  • Start date: March, April 2o24

  • Job Type: Internship (Unpaid) – *College credit required*

  • Duration: Minimum 18 hours per week for 5 months.

  • Location: Remote (Zoom), based in New York, NY - Hybrid optional

  • Communication: Bi-weekly virtual team meetings and daily breakout rooms.

  • Working Hours: Self-schedule 9 AM - 9 PM EST Monday through Friday, Saturday-Sunday 10 AM - 5 PM.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Manage the company website with an array of branded and consistent content, ensuring functionality is efficient and layout is consistent on both mobile and desktop layouts. Keep up-to-date knowledge of changes and improvements. 

  • Brainstorm, prototype, and curate gift guides, style guides, lookbooks, and career development pages to showcase JBIER’s branded collections, new trends, and offerings. 

  • Collaborate with the Business Development, Project Management, and Human Resources teams to research, implement, and execute the company’s highest-level projects, including Career Acceleration Program (CAP) Workshops and fundraising initiatives. Showcase projects and operations through photo and video content, as well as website pages.

  • Research and analyze insights, opportunities, and risks on the company website to understand audience analytics and identify performance of products, collections, blogs, shop pages, and career pages. Leverage data by compiling and presenting insights to the team in order to identify priorities, as well as assist with devising targeted sales and marketing strategies.

  • Edit product photographs, lifestyle photographs, and videos through platforms such as Canva, Adobe Suite, iMovie, or the like to showcase the brand identity and visual style of JBIER’s online platforms.

  • Craft animations, video clips, and scrolling videos for social platforms, collections, blogs, email marketing newsletters, and other website sections, while prioritizing video stability and clarity.

  • Refresh the website homepage to showcase new trends, sales, lookbooks, and collections.

  • Monitor and update the shipping bar banner to reflect sales and relevant announcements. 

  • Regularly revise and enhance the company's 'About Us' page to provide a more in-depth understanding of the company and its team. Incorporate alumni testimonials on the career page and ensure that all job listings are refreshed on a weekly basis.

  • Create eloquent informational sections to reflect brand values and organizational goals. 

  • Curate new pages and collections based on trends, seasons, and holidays. 

  • Assist the Social Media Marketing team with the successful implementation of new platforms. 

  • Collaborate with the JBIER team and alumni to produce captivating and educational videos to showcase behind the scenes of the company, highlight key offerings, and establish credentials for the company, program, and brand.

  • Assist with maintaining and updating the company’s data asset management platforms, ensuring content is sorted and readily available for the respective team members to use for content creation.

  • Research and implement SEO best practices to ensure the website is optimized and efficient.

  • Create and distribute user experience surveys to determine performance, accessibility, and overall design of the website. Leverage feedback to create action plans for optimizing e-commerce platforms. 

  • Monitor and update legal sections, such as Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and FAQs. 


 

REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Prior website design and development, analytics, research, marketing, photography, and videography experience are highly preferred.

  • Experience working across e-commerce platforms, such as Poshmark, and Wix. Proficiency in web development applications, such as Wix are highly preferred.

  • Proficiency in iMovie and Adobe platforms, especially XD, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Premiere Pro are highly preferred.

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with a strong sense of accountability.

  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a remote, entrepreneurial environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
