THE ROLE
 
JBIER Inc. is looking for a Social Media Marketing Intern to grow our online following and engage with our active user base. This intern will play an integral role in managing JBIER Boutique’s social media platforms and creating cohesive content to develop a strong brand identity, grow our online following, and engage with our active user base. This intern will also work closely with the social media and marketing teams to create seasonal and monthly marketing and sales strategies to promote user engagement on social media, acquire new followers, and increase brand exposure and awareness. Please note, this role is an unpaid, remote internship.

Location: Remote (Zoom), based in New York, NY - Hybrid optional
Communication: Bi-weekly virtual team meetings and daily breakout rooms
Working Hours: Self-schedule 9 AM - 9 PM EST Monday through Friday, Saturday-Sunday 10 AM - 5 PM

 


RESPONSIBILITIES

Social Media 

Interns create and publish content across all JBIER Boutique’s social media and e-commerce platforms, including Poshmark, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and the JBIER Boutique website. They oversee site metrics, community management, creative directing, customer service, and copywriting with the intent to create a strong sense of brand identity.

  • Oversee social media platforms, creating and posting content that aligns with brand identity to promote campaigns, collections, sales, featured products, and new arrivals. 

  • Research digital media trends based on the target audience and competitor activity. 

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create seasonal and monthly marketing and sales strategies to promote user engagement on social media. 

  • Discover unique hashtags and on-trend captions using SEO learnings. Communicate a consistent positive message across all platforms through posts and customer interactions. Write unique and meaningful captions that tell a story and aim to create a personal connection with the audience in the social media PowerPoint. 

  • Post marketing content using a content calendar and Instagram story sign-up document.

  • Utilize analytic tools on the website, Facebook commerce manager, Poshmark, and other social media platforms to track, monitor, and optimize consumer engagement.

  • Transform performance learnings into advertising strategies for unique effectiveness in the retail space.

  • Devise and execute strategies to acquire new followers, increase brand exposure, and promote awareness. 

  • Work with the project management and admin team to manage the content calendar for all social media platforms to ensure we are marketing and posting at the best times. 

  • Post content to raise awareness of virtual events, sales, new arrivals, and promotions. 

  • Research and follow customers interested in the same products and services. 

  • Track events and post-marketing content to share highlights. 

  • Post engaging content in the form of blogs and vlogs on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and the company website. 

  • Use Instagram’s interactive Stories features like polls and questions to engage with followers. Aim for personal connection: IG Stories create a lot of engagement and help promote our brand. Be consistent: Like our feed, your IG Stories should align with our brand voice and aesthetic. 

  • Create collections on Facebook for Instagram shops that mimic the collections on our website. 

  • Regularly monitor Facebook commerce managers and request reviews so that the products can appear on Instagram shops. If rejected, request a review of the products to be approved. 

  • Monitor the Facebook commerce manager’s analytics and determine which products get the most views on Instagram shops and the most popular on Instagram shops. 

  • Create and track the national holiday calendar, identify relevant events, and post content on social media platforms.

  • Collaborate with the Website Design team to create and manage the top 20 weekly reports by analyzing the top pages viewed on the website and compare it with analytics on Facebook Commerce Manager / Business Suite. Organize data into an excel document to track and monitor the performance of products, collections, blogs, shop pages, and the like. Use this knowledge to devise strategies to increase sales and determine weekly priorities. 

  • Collaborate with the Merchandising team to update top trending products collection with top trending products based on our analytics, as well as trends identified in industry reports.

  • Use knowledge and insights from analytics to create Instagram and Facebook ads. Ensure that we are targeting the right customer demographic depending upon each platform.

  • Research, establish, and maintain influencer relationships through DM’s and emails. Ensure we partner with influencers that align with our goals, brand vision, and identity. 

  • Manage and update Instagram highlights regularly. 

 

Marketing 

Interns create content for campaigns, collections, new arrivals, sales, and promotions. They research website analytics to identify insights, opportunities, and risks and, in turn, create marketing strategies that best fit the business.

 

  • Create content for campaigns, collections, sales, promos, and new arrivals, such as product shop stories, banners, collages, lookbooks, line sheets, mood boards, animated stories, and polls, to promote user engagement on social media, acquire new followers/customers, increase brand awareness and exposure. 

  • Compile and assemble digital lookbooks to showcase our new and previously launched collections. 

  • Attend CEW events, conduct market research, and create detailed reports on fashion, beauty, lifestyle, retail, and consumer trends. Translate insights into strategies for increasing sales and exposure on social media and beating the competition. 

  • Use client testimonials, thank you notes, and “love notes” to create inspiring marketing content to showcase on the website, Poshmark, and social media platforms. 

  • Download and compile images of our new arrivals and create a shared album for marketing content. 

  • Regularly sign up for creating content on IG story sign-up documents to create stories for interactive story posts, product posts, collection posts, new arrivals, mood boards, team stories, scrolling videos, quotes, and national holiday stories. 

  • Analyze sales and inventory reports to identify opportunities for improvement. Devise strategies and new purchasing incentives to increase sales of underperforming products. 

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research in the fashion industry. You will use this data to create highly-detailed marketing reports, monthly sales, and strategies. Your objective would be to find the most profitable products and designs extending our understanding of the business environment. 

  • Sketch and design new merchandise for JBIER’s Angel Collection. 

  • Sketch and design CADs for website and digital content. 

  • Research competitors, construct brand overviews, and create a SWOT analysis of today’s marketplace. 

  • Craft unique strategies to convert shoppers into buyers and buyers into loyal, returning clients. 

  • Create email marketing campaigns to promote products or services that include persuasive 'call-to-actions' in advertisements and promotions, on brand-specific graphics, incentives, and detailed descriptions. Ensure marketing messages are conveyed, delivered adequately to prospects, and sent in proper form and template.

  • Track and analyze direct and interactive marketing campaigns and use statistical analysis and reports to create future campaigns. 

  • Proofread emails for clarity, grammar, and spelling and ensured the design and layouts of emails were optimized, user and mobile-friendly. 

  • A/B Testing - test out small changes like design layout, verbiage, graphic content, subject line, etc., and compare results to find out what works and doesn't work for our audiences. 

  • Write/collect blurbs for email marketing campaigns that capture the audience’s attention and efficiently describe the contents of the email. 

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • All majors will be considered for this opportunity.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience working across social media platforms, such as Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, and Twitter.

  • Proficiency in Canva and Adobe platforms, especially Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, and InDesign preferred.

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with a strong sense of accountability.

  • Consistent, dependable attendance and punctuality.

  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a remote, entrepreneurial environment.

  • Clear and demonstrative understanding of how to manage competing priorities within a business setting.
